Encouragingly in front of all four Nairn Councillors who had earlier attended the Nairnshire Area Committee Meeting (link to video of meeting here), a wide range of topics were covered.
All present supported collaborative working and the Councillors acknowledged that whilst there were logistical challenges sharing Ward Meeting agendas and papers in due time for comment, there was support for working towards greater transparency in the detail of the Minutes. The Nairn Local Place Plan project was discussed and will be kicking-off via a public meeting soon, with a very tight timeline of January 2024 to complete the exercise to have it considered for the latest Highland Local Development Plan. The planned Common Good Engagement Group was also discussed and the Councillors committing to a public meeting to introduce the idea of a forum for more localised discussion of how Common Good Fund is utilised, though decision-making will still wrest with THC trustees.
