Highland Council pays tribute to Councillor Tom Heggie

The Highland Council has paid tribute to Councillor Tom Heggie who died suddenly on Wednesday morning (23 February 2022).
Elected as an Independent Councillor to the Nairn and Cawdor Ward (18) in May 2017 - Councillor Heggie was Chair of the Nairnshire Committee, Vice Chair of the Education Committee and served on the South Planning Applications Committee.

Councillor Tom Heggie as an Ex-Officio member of Nairn West & Suburban Community Council attended many of our meetings, updating members on council business as it related to Nairn and relaying our concerns and comments back to Highland Council. We would like to send our condolences to Tom's wife Mary and his family. We remember the many good things Tom achieved especially around the United Reform Church expansion and its community involvement.
